Session Times at Baywave

In managing visitor numbers to Baywave so we can adhere to the 2 metre physical distancing rules in public facilities, we have implemented session times for our regular users, our regular programmes, and the public:

Make sure you check these timetables before arriving at our venues to avoid disappointment.

Contact Tracing

We are required to collect contact tracing details for everyone 12 years of age and over (unless unaccompanied by an adult) entering our venue.

There are three options for contact tracing:
  • Use the Government COVID Tracer App to scan the venues unique barcode
  • Swipe your membership or visit pass card (if applicable)
  • Manually record your details with reception or via the group and/or activity you are partaking in

Contact details assist with the management of COVID-19. This means that your details (name, contact number, time, and date of your visit) will be given to public health officials if it is required for contact tracing. Contact details provided manually will be held securely and destroyed after 60 days.

Face Coverings

We encourage everyone to wear a face covering when visiting our venues.

You are not required to wear a face covering within an aquatic environment or while exercising, but we encourage you to wear one as you enter and exit these facilities. For all other indoor public facilities, a face covering is required unless you are under 12 years of age or have trouble breathing.

Staff in customer facing roles are required to wear face coverings (with the exception of staff within aquatic environments) as per the Alert Level 2 requirements.

Recreational Facilities

When visiting our indoor recreational facilities (swimming pools, gym, community centres, halls, and indoor sports), you must keep a 2 metre distance from other people, except for friends and whānau. In these venues you will find markings on the floor, walls, or benches in areas where congregation occurs (e.g., reception, changing rooms etc) to indicate 2 metre spacing. Distancing isn’t required while sport is in play.

We encourage customers to use payWave of Eftpos instead of cash.

Event Facilities

As per the Government guidelines Bay Venues’ is working to a maximum capacity of 100 customers with 1 metre distancing per indoor or outdoor venue space (excluding staff). For Tumble Time we are implementing session times to ensure we don’t exceed this capacity. Visit baykids.co.nz/tumble-time for more information.

Memberships & Visit Passes

All memberships & visit passes will automatically re-start upon the re-opening of the facilities on Thursday, September 9 (and Saturday, September 11 for Greerton Aquatic members/visit pass holders).

Increased Hygiene Regime

Before re-opening each facility, a thorough clean will be performed. All maned facilities undergo regular commercial cleans and high-touch point areas will be disinfected throughout the day and/or between use by staff, e.g., door handles, benches etc.

We encourage visitors to any of our aquatic sites to consider how they can arrive and depart without necessarily using changing facilities to help minimise risks in these areas.

Hand sanitiser will be available at the entrance of all Bay Venues’ facilities and we encourage customers and staff to use this before entering.

It is important that you use basic hygiene measures, including washing your hands, coughing, or sneezing into your elbow and cleaning surfaces. Please stay home if you are feeling unwell.

Bay Venues’ are monitoring COVID-19 developments closely and will be updating this web page and notifying customers via our Facebook pages if our situation changes.
