A world-class event, right here is our glorious Bay of Plenty region - with its Expo Hub at The LakesEvery two years the Bay of Plenty hosts New Zealand’s premier Garden & Art Festival with 2014 marking the 9th Festival (to be held 17th to 23rd November). This biennial event, which holds the prestigious Tauranga 'Flagship Event' status, goes from strength to strength and attracts over 20,000 local, national and international visitors to its myriad of activities each year. 2014 will be no exception...with most of them descending on The Lakes to take advantage of all that will be on offer. Sales remain very bouyant with over 275 sections sold since Carrus purchased The Lakes eighteen months ago. We continue to experience strong demand from within Tauranga and outside the region, with the new Pinnacle and Central releases selling well. If you have been out to The Lakes recently, you will see that Stage 3 earthworks are underway to meet this continued demand. |
On the 22nd of March, we will be hosting The Parents' Centre Annual "Walk the Lakes". In 2014, planning is in place for those walking to 'bump' into some famous Wizard of Oz characters along the way (with thanks to Amy at Dance Avenue Studio for helping us to make this happen). Mark your diaries as this promises to be a wonderful adventure for babies, pre-schoolers and of course, their caregivers too. |
Have you seen the blazing red pohutukawas in Stage One? Here they are caught on camera by one of our residents. Those with the green fingers amongst us have commented that last week's rain has really helped them along - creating a spectacular viewing that is well worth the drive! With Christmas fast approaching, it's a great time to view some great examples of New Zealand's Christmas Tree in flower. |
At The Lakes, we love seeing people out and about on our walking, running and cycle tracks. To help out our runners, we've marked up 3km and 5km trail distances, so that you can get fit and test yourself on your speed over the two respective distances. Get amongst it, and tell your friends to come out and give it a go! |
