Looking to enter the NZ market?

Are you an offshore company wanting to sell products into New Zealand?  If you are, you need to read this…..

For overseas companies, New Zealand represents a potentially attractive new market of 4 million people.   4 million consumers who may want to buy your product!

But it can be a minefield – and it’s our job to make sure you know of potential issues that may come your way if you do decide to set up in New Zealand.

We can confidentially give advice and handle your entire supply chain for you, including:-

  • Advice on Duties / Duty concessions
  • International Shipping costs – making sure your stock gets to NZ in the most cost effective manner
  • Customs clearance, MAF clearance (Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry)
  • 3rd party warehousing and distribution, stock management
  • Supply chain efficiencies

One major roadblock you may come across is GST (Goods and Services Tax).  GST is payable on basically every import into New Zealand, and unless you are a NZ GST registered company, you will be unable to claim back the GST on import.  This may make your product uncompetitive in the NZ market!

Setting up a New Zealand company can be expensive and risky when owned offshore (taking on staff when testing a new market, taking on premises, equipment etc).  We have a solution to this issue meaning you may not need to go through the hassle and expense of setting up a New Zealand company to be able to claim back outlaid GST on each import into NZ.
