Just as the media as an institution continues its rapid pace of change, in terms of both structure and content, media law continues to evolve. Online publication is now at the forefront of that change. The speed and ubiquitous nature of the internet, blogs and social media continue to present challenges to those areas of media law founded in the age of the printing press.
Media law remains a theatre for conflict as the courts and bodies regulating standards continue to grapple with a range of fundamental issues, including reputation, privacy, fair trial rights, suppression, and freedom of expression. This seminar will help ensure that you have a strong understanding of the issues and developments in this area, and are able to give robust advice when confronted with media issues.
