It will identify and discuss environmental red flags – the work hard, play hard mentality, power imbalances, and what should ring alarm bells.
It discusses the steps you can take, and tools that can be used to address these issues and minimise risk. It provides guidance for dealing with complaints, the investigation process, and the difficulties and sensitivities of dealing with sexual harassment claims, together with the importance of not being a bystander. Phase II of the AML/CFT Act extends the regime (in stages over two years) to include lawyers and conveyancers, accountants, real estate agents and high-value dealers. Lawyers and conveyancers are the first to be covered by the new provisions, and must be compliant with their AML/CFT Act obligations by 1 July 2018. The Department of Internal Affairs (DIA) will be the supervisor.

The CPD Rules recognise that lawyers know their learning needs and will act to meet them. The Rules require lawyers to take responsibility for developing and maintaining a CPD plan.
