Dining

Fiji is a multicultural nation, with approximately half the population having their origins in other countries. A variety of cooking styles have arisen to feed this cultural mix, blending flavours from all over the world. For example, the indigenous Fijians traditionally enjoy food cooked with coconut, particularly fish and other produce from the sea and rivers, while Fijians with Indian origins have many fragrant and spicy curries. The local markets are overflowing with different fruit and vegetables, spices and legumes, as well as fresh fish and kava.

All dishes are freshly prepared on Navini using many locally grown ingredients and a range of cooking styles. There are warm buns, dressings and sauces, as well as desserts and homemade ice-cream. All fish are caught locally by staff. Special dietary requirements and food allergies are catered for, with gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, non-dairy and Halal options available. 

There’s homemade muesli and Fijian coffee beans ground to your taste. Juices with breakfast, as well as tea and coffee with meals, are complimentary during your stay. There are also freshly squeezed orange juice, cocktails, mocktails, beers and wines available to purchase. 

Most people choose to dine communally with other guests in the open-air dining room to share a story or two, but you can opt for a separate table whenever you choose. For a romantic evening, dine by candlelight on the beach with the sand between your toes, or on the alfresco deck. Room service or dinner on your bure’s verandah can also be arranged.

Breakfast is served 8-9am. Lunch is between 1-2pm and dinner is served 7-9pm. Guests can choose the two- or three-meal plan each day. Meals are charged daily, so you can have two meals on some days and three on others. Lunch and dinner menus change each day, and offer a variety of dishes. Simple variations to the dishes can be requested.
