Winter dash & dip

Friday June 24 around 60 enthusiasts defy the overcast and windy weather to mark the winter solstice with a mid-winter swim. This is the fourth consecutive year where a group of hardy souls have celebrated the shortest day (which was actually June 21) with a dip in the ocean. A warm breeze took the chill off the air and the sea temperature of about 16 degrees was a relief to those who braved the water in togs rather than wetsuits. PHOTO/SUPPLIED
