Writers complete latest workshop

Another Mangawhai Writers Workshop has just completed its last chapter for May and again produced more writers, from novice to emerging. That success is what the workshop is all about says writing tutor Jude Thomas, pictured (front) with graduates from the May group: “I’m so proud of my students.”

Creative Writing for Beginners is an intensive, interactive course and Jude's teaching style appears to bring out special results in her students, with one saying they thought ‘it would be rather easy’. “But after a gentle start, Jude really pressed us hard to develop our outlines into tight, gripping stories. I had no idea I could achieve this, and I'm stoked with my work. Then she tells us it's only the beginning, and next time she'll bring out the whip. I can't wait!”
