Art Trail big feature for Walking Weekend![]() The Mangawhai Art Trail is held every year in conjunction with the Mangawhai Walking Weekend, and this year the April 6-7 event will see over 40 artists exhibiting at venues all over Mangawhai in a range of mediums including oils, acrylics, watercolours, photography, glass, pottery, stone, wood, flax, silk, and jewellery - all used to create inspired and distinctive pieces. A free event, visitors can spend a leisurely day or weekend touring artist sites. Maps detailing artists and venues can be found at the new museum, Mangawhai Information Centre, or wherever distinctive pink flags are displayed. After many years as an art tutor, Wendy Clifford (above) is now a full time artist. Wendy uses oils, acrylics, and acrylic inks in her paintings giving her the vibrant colours that she needs. Wendy also has a love of print making, wood and lino cuts, and mono printing. She believes Mangawhai is an artists dream, and a wonderful place to live. Wendy has a number of works in private collections in the USA, Canada, Australia and the United Kingdom. See her exhibit at 60 Wintle Street during the Walking Weekend.
