My name is Jo, My husband and I have a 16 year old daughter. I have been with JeMMa’s for the past 15 years and am still full of enthusiasm and passion for caring for children in my own home.
I first started as an Educarer as I wanted to be at home with my daughter. I have worked as a nanny and a house parent in children’s home on my OE and I knew back then that I wanted to continue working with younger children.
I offer a warm, safe, family environment where children can grow, thrive and learn on a one-to-one basis but also in a close knit group.
Children have many varied learning experiences in the week, art work, lots of outside play, sand, water and messy play and lots of music and dramatic play. As well as that, we attend the large Mainly Music group and the local Plunket playgroup.
We take advantage of the local parks, playgroups and the lovely Orewa Beach (which is within walking distance from my home).
Story time is one highlight of our day and I encourage the children to use the JeMMa’s book library to foster their love of books.
I enjoy all age’s groups; the younger ones I can offer quality care and the older ones I enjoy preparing them for school. I believe in a small family-like environment where children can thrive with a home-base care environment.
