About Us

Forrest Hill Veterinary Clinic has been providing companion animal veterinary services and products to Auckland's North Shore for over 30 years.

We pride ourselves in giving every customer the best possible service we can. Our fully qualified, friendly team of vets and vet nurses all love animals and strive to continually maintain and improve our practice standards.

Mike originates from Napier and graduated from Massey in 1983. Before coming to Auckland, Mike owned and operated a mixed animal practice in Napier for 10 years. In 1993. Mike completed his membership of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Veterinary Pharmacology. In 1999 he studied, and passed with Merit, an advanced surgery course. He regularly attends internal medicine and surgery refresher courses across the Tasman. Mike's areas of interest include small animal surgery, ultrasound and therapeutics. Mike became a partner in Forrest Hill Vet Clinic in 2000.

Mike's interests outside of work include fishing, running and watersports. He also enjoys cooking, playing the piano and tramping. He has a cherished Burmese called Lucy who is now a senior citizen

Louise graduated from Massey in 1987. After working in the U.K. for 5 years, Louise commenced practice at Forrest Hill Vets in 1993. In 2000 she became a partner in the Clinic. She regularly attends small animal refresher courses in Australia and New Zealand and is committed to maintaining high quality veterinary care.

Louise lives in Westmere with her husband and three daughters, Alice, Ruby and Isabella. She has two cats.

Mark 1
Mark Pangalila owned his own practice in England before emigrating to New Zealand with his wife, who is also a veterinarian, three children, three dogs and three cats. He became a partner in the practice in 2011. He has a special interest in rabbits and other pocket pets.

Mark spends his spare time watching his children compete in swimming competitions

Bede Robinson graduated from Massey in 1986 and spent 2 and a half years in mixed practice in the Taranaki. Following a very extended O.E. working in the U.K, Asia and the Middle East, Bede returned to Auckland with his wife and two daughters.

He completed membership examinations of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists in Small Animal Internal Medicine in 2000 and continues to expend and update his knowledge through regular ongoing continuing education. He became a partner in the practice in 2015.

He enjoys most sporting activities and has two small, hyperactive dogs

Kathy is Practice Manager and has been working at Forrest Hill Vets for more than 20 years. Nowadays Kathy spends more time on administrative duties, including managing the website and the clinic's Facebook page, but still enjoys being in surgery. She is the Treasurer and Membership Secretary and Past President of the N.Z. Veterinary Nursing Association and has a special interest in continuing education and geriatric animal care.

Kathy has twin daughters and a son and lives with her two cats Shorty and Persia which came to her as strays. In her spare time she enjoys reading gardening and yoga and is  a proud grandmother to Phoebe Alice, Olive Willa, Matilda and Ted

KateE 1
Kate Esther has been part of the team since 2001 where she started out as a student doing correspondence study to gain her qualification as a vet nurse. Within the clinic Kate enjoys the variety and diversity that the veterinary environment offers. Kate enjoys an outdoor lifestyle with her very active and beautiful Jose' and also loves to go tramping whenever she can.

Kate and Jose' also share their house with her rescue cat from the clinic called Oona

Kate Franchi has been with us since 2003, graduating with a Certificate in Veterinary Nursing. Kate enjoys an active lifestyle, competing in ocean swims. She also loves travelling.

She shares her home with a large tabby cat, Toby, who she adopted through the clinic.

Tania has worked part time as a vet nurse here at Forrest Hill since 2002, mainly on the weekends. She has a lot of fun running the Puppy School classes, where she gets to meet eight new pups each month. 

She has two children, and her and the children enjoy walking their dogs, Chester and Narla, on the beach.

Kathy  R
Kathy is a qualified vet nurse who started nursing at Forrest Hill Vets in 1997. She worked full time for 2 years before starting a family. She has 2 children, Joseph  and Maya .

She is now back working full-time again and has taken on the appointment of  Head Nurse. Kathy has a dog Cody who often accompanies her to work.

jeanette 1
After many years of human nursing, Jeanette decided to follow her passion with animals and trained as a veterinary nurse. She qualified with a Certificate in Veterinary Nursing from Unitec. She now works as a permanent part timer.

Jeanette lives on a few acres at Dairy Flat which is also home to 2 horses, 8 chickens, 1 cat, a cockatiel and an indian ringneck. Her other interests are endurance riding, gardening and yoga.

Brigitte is a British trained veterinary nurse who has worked with us for a number of years.

Brigitte is an enthusiastic member of staff who enjoys talking with our clients and interacting with their pets and her cheery voice (with the british accent) is often the one you hear when you telephone the clinic.
