What was your faourite part of your Wedding day:
The best thing about my wedding day was that we had so many family and friends involved in different aspects of the day. Everything felt so special and unique and incredibly personal. My mother decorated the ceremony and reception venue as well as designed/set up the candy table which looked beautiful. My mother-in-law-to-be made my gorgeous wedding dress and my Maid of Honour designed all the stationery and artwork for our wedding which was really special. The Groom’s sister baked and decorated our wedding cake and my two brothers played the guitar and sang at our ceremony which has always been a dream of mine. We also had one of our oldest family friends officiate the ceremony which meant the world to me as well. I can’t miss mentioning my bridesmaids as well who helped me with so much of the organization from London and who ensured that the lead up and preparation before and on the day was smooth and full of fun. I could probably write a whole essay about how much of an amazing day I had and all the people I would like to thank, but I’m sure there’s just not enough room for that!
My favourite part of the day is going to sound rather cliché, but I have to say it was probably the ceremony, especially as I started walking up the aisle. Walking with my Dad and seeing Will waiting for me at the end of the aisle was incredibly special. And seeing all our family and friends as I walked up the aisle and knowing that they had come to celebrate with us (even travelling from as far as the UK and Canada) was amazing.

What would you recommend to other brides who are choosing Lake Taupo as their Wedding Destination:
Enjoy everything. There will be times during the planning phase that will seem stressful but just take a deep breathe and definitely don’t sweat the small stuff as it doesn’t matter on the day. On the day itself, I recommend scheduling in 20-30minutes for just yourselves – to enjoy a glass of bubbles and take everything in. We did this after the bridal photos before we joined everyone in the reception room and it was lovely. It doesn’t have to be very long, but it gives you a chance to just take a breathe and enjoy each other on your special day. You will spend so much time mixing and mingling with all your guests that you won’t have a lot of time just the two of you, so this is quite special.

Other comments:
Can I have another wedding?!?!?! Honestly, my husband and I still talk about it all the time and just can’t believe what a day it was! I know everyone says it, but it really was the best party and the happiest day of my life. It is probably one of the few times when you will have all those that mean the most to you all in one place. I have never smiled so much in one day – my cheeks still hurt just thinking about it!
