All champion athletes, and those aspiring to be champions will know what being "in the zone" means. How being in that state, when everything flows effortlessly, is when you achieve your best performances. And when you are not in the zone, it takes more effort, seems that much harder, to do what need to be done. This goes not only in sport, but in anything you do - in your business, your career, your relationships.
The Mind Factor is your own subconscious mind. This is what "drives" you. It controls your attitude, actions and behaviour. And for there to be any permanent change to take place it first needs to change on your subconscious mind. And that is where hypnosis specialises... the subconscious mind.
Hypnosis is a trance state (the alpha state) and a completely natural state. Everyone experiences trance states a number of time a day, and at night. Any time you daydream or when your mind wanders off to another time or place - day dreaming, thinking, etc. Or, when totally focused, such as watching TV or a movie, studying, driving a car, etc. These are all examples of everyday natural trances, or hypnosis.
It is in this natural state the inward focus of the mind increases so that the subconscious mind becomes more receptive and responsive to positive suggestions and ideas. This is the way you can make positive changes.
Hypnosis is like the relaxed mental state we experience between wakefulness and sleep, indicated by the same alpha brain wave patterns as hypnosis. As well as occurring naturally many times each day, hypnosis can be brought about intentionally, usually through focusing exercises and relaxation. You can take yourself into hypnosis (self hypnosis) or have a professionally qualified hypnotherapist assist and guide you, hleping you achive your goals.
When you are in hypnosis it is not like being asleep or unconscious (a popular misconception) because you are very aware while you are experiencing it. You will hear the hypnotherapist's voice and other sounds, and you are able to come out of hypnosis at any time, if you needed to, or wanted to. You can speak, if necessary, and more (answer questions, scratch your nose, etc). You are in full control at all times. But, when you are so relaxed, you'll probably just want to keep on enjoying the feeling.
Hypnotherapy (hypnosis + therapy) can powerfully assist you in many ways to make positive changes in your life. It can help you with your work, your relationships / personal life, your sport, your health, your learning, your spiritual development, and more. Suggestions accepted by the subconscious mind can also have a very therapeutic effect on the mind and body.
Hypnotherapy has been likened to meditation, and while both allow you to achieve similar levels of relaxation, there is a very major difference:
There are many reasons why we do something which we now no longer want to do. E.g. lacking focus, motivation or confidence, having a phobia, or wanting to change some behaviour issue we have. And there are a number of ways of dealing with each of these with hypnotherapy, as it is not only a science, it'is also an art. And the knowledge, experience and the skill of the hypnotherapist can go a long way to ensuring a positive outcome for you.
It is also important that as a client, you maintain a positive outlook about achieving your goal, and be willing to do what it takes to achieve it is also important.
The reality is that we are all different. We each respond differently to situations, and so it is with hypnosis. Some people can achieve their goal within 2-4 sessions, whilst others need more help. That is part of being the unique person you are. However, with Hypnotherapy, it usual takes a much shorter time (i.e. less sessions than with some other 'talking' therapies) to make positive changes. Therefore it can be very cost effective.

Both Roger and Susan offer a free, no obligation, 30 minute interview, so you can discuss (in complete privacy and confidence) what you want to change or achieve, and they can explain how they can assist you. Then, if you want to go ahead with a session, you need to allow a further one hour - total time 90 mins. Subsequent sessions are usually one hour, although some programmes make take a little longer.
